Terms of use.
Plain-English terms for the toolsai.app website and our apps, LockIn and InvoiceMe. Short sentences, no traps.
Effective 15 July 2026 · Last updated 15 July 2026
1. Who these terms cover
These terms are an agreement between you and ToolsAi Pty Ltd (ABN 73 698 152 902) of Sydney, Australia (“ToolsAi”, “we”, “us”). They cover the toolsai.app website and our iOS apps, LockIn and InvoiceMe (together, the “services”). By using any of the services, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the services.
2. Our apps and the App Store
LockIn and InvoiceMe are distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store when available. Apple’s standard licence terms and media services terms also apply to your download and use of the apps. Where Apple’s terms conflict with these, Apple’s terms win for App Store matters.
3. Your licence to use the apps
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use our apps on Apple devices you own or control, for their intended purpose. You may not copy, resell, rent out or sublicense the apps, or reverse-engineer them except where the law allows.
4. Accounts
If a service requires an account, give us accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@toolsai.app if you think your account has been compromised.
5. Subscriptions, purchases and refunds
Paid features are billed to your Apple ID through the App Store. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. LockIn stakes
LockIn lets you put your own money behind an alarm. Stakes are entirely optional, and the rules are shown in the app before you commit. In plain terms:
- You choose the stake amount before the alarm is set.
- If you complete the mission, you keep your money. If you miss it, the stake is forfeited under the rules shown when you set it.
- Stakes are not gambling and not an investment. There are no winnings — you can only keep or lose your own stake.
- You must be 18 or older to use stakes.
Missions can involve physical activity, like push-ups. Choose missions that are safe for you, and stop if something hurts. Nothing in LockIn is medical or fitness advice.
7. InvoiceMe and your business
InvoiceMe is a tool, not an adviser. It does not provide accounting, tax or legal advice. AI-drafted quotes, invoices and extracted receipt data are drafts for you to check — review every document before you send it or rely on it. You remain responsible for your prices, your GST registration and settings, your tax obligations and your record-keeping.
Integrations with Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks depend on those platforms, and your use of them is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services or for changes those platforms make.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use the services to:
- break the law, or create documents that are misleading or fraudulent;
- interfere with, overload or probe the services or their security;
- access another person’s account or data without permission; or
- copy or scrape the services to build a competing product.
9. Your content and data
The data you put into our apps — alarms, missions, quotes, invoices, photos, client details — is yours. You grant us only the licence we need to operate the services for you: to store, process and transmit that data as the features require. How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policies: website, LockIn and InvoiceMe.
10. Intellectual property
The services — including the apps, this website, our names, logos and designs — are owned by ToolsAi Pty Ltd or our licensors. These terms do not transfer any of that ownership to you.
11. Availability and changes
We are a small studio and we ship improvements often. We may add, change or remove features, and we may suspend the services briefly for maintenance. If we make a change that materially reduces a paid feature, we will give you reasonable notice where practicable.
12. Australian Consumer Law and liability
Our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded — including that they will be provided with due care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those rights.
To the extent the law permits: our liability for a breach of a non-excludable guarantee is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of resupply; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control; and our total liability to you is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
13. Termination
You can stop using the services at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you materially breach these terms, and we will tell you why. Sections that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property, liability and governing law — survive termination. Your Australian Consumer Law rights are unaffected.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
15. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will post the new version at this address and update the date at the top. For material changes we will give you notice in the app or by email where practicable. Continuing to use the services after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.
